Hi friends! Hope you are having a great week.
2 Corinthians 12:10 (NLT)“That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong .”
I guess I have always memorized this verse to say “when I am weak, He is strong.” But that is essentially what is being said here as our weakness makes way for Christ to empower us with His strength.
When we continually feed a negative behavior, for example, worry, it becomes a weak link to us. We become more susceptible to attack by the enemy for that same area. I liken it to a linen sheet. After much wear, it starts to deteriorate and wear out and becomes threadbare. At this stage, it is not hard for the enemy to come in and completely destroy the linen by attacking this weakest area.
How so is the same principle true for us? If we fester and feed the same problem continually, then it will grow. The weak area will become an even greater point of attack.
We need to reinforce the weak area and trust God to be the resiliency behind it.
Isaiah 64:6A “We are all infected and impure with sin. When we display our righteous deeds, they are nothing but filthy rags.” However, we have to make a choice! We must decide to quit feeding the weak link as well. The weak link could represent a number of different things: worry, food dependency, trust issues, etc.
We have to rely on God and trust Him. Trust means to have a confident hope, so we should begin to change the way we think and speak out the following. “God, I have a confident (having strong belief or full assurance) hope that You will provide and come through for me. For I know that You have my best interests in mind.”
God, let us remember all that You sent Your Son to do. Let us allow You to be our strong backing so that we may stand against any attack from the enemy. Let us put on the full armor You have offered us (see Eph. 6:10-17). Let us strengthen our weak link(s) by relying on and in You. In Jesus Name, Amen.
Talk soon, MG
