Needless to say, we have been playing outside a lot as the weather has been beautiful and we’ve all been stuck at home anyway. 🙂

On one such occasion, Levi fell off his bike and got slightly hurt. While I didn’t baby him, I was sympathetic. I hugged him and helped clean his “injury”. I enjoyed every moment of holding him and feeling needed. I immediately had the thought that it might just be a picture of God with us, His children.

He doesn’t want the bad thing to happen, but instead of correcting us, preaching to us, or telling us to “suck it up, buttercup”, He lovingly holds us and hugs us too. Just as I loved feeling wanted by my 7-year-old, I think God actually enjoys it when we go to Him in our time of need. It’s hard to fathom that the Creator of the universe could actually need frail humans with all of our shortcomings.

It reminds me of the book by Louie Giglio, “I Am Not, But I Know I Am”. People are small and while He really doesn’t need us, He wants us. Whoa. That’s pretty simple, yet very powerful. Just as my son needed his momma, maybe I needed to know my Father needed me at that moment. To show me that I’m loved, valuable, important. And you know what? You are too, my friend.

Father, while being aware of our frailty and smallness, let us also realize that we are needed, by You. Let us be aware of both sides of the coin, and when we are feeling less than, remember that You are more than enough and that we are valued in Your eyes. Amen.

Verses to Ponder: Matthew 10:29-31 (NIV) – “Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.  So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

This reminds me of something God gave me a vision for a couple years ago. I was feeling rather isolated and forgotten and I created a reminder….for me, for you, for everyone. You can shop HERE and read about it HERE. And, if you want a free printable to serve as a reminder, sign up for all my updates HERE. I pray you are blessed and feel the love of the Father this week.
