Hi ya’ll! I’m excited about this lesson. Not because it’s so earth shattering, but because of how it was inspired.
I was sitting with Ayla and Levi one night last week and we had already finished dinner and were all relaxing on devices. Well, I was doing work, but it was web design so it was more fun than work. 😉 Anyway….Ayla was playing Slither.io. Anyone know of this one? Basically, you grow your cute little worm (that’s an oxymoron – a worm cute??) by collecting points. Ayla had gotten all the way to first place and was so excited. And that made me excited and happy for her. She made a comment and that is when Holy Spirit insight hit.
She said “The bigger you are, the bigger the risk becomes.” Hmmmm. I could feel the weight of that statement immediately. I told her I was inspired and she didn’t understand. Once I explained it, she responded, “That is good. Did you just make that up?” How’s that to warm a mama’s heart?? 🙂
So, the way I explained to her is that the bigger we are for God, the greater of a risk we are to the devil.
Think of it this way. If we are living for the Father 100% all in we are going to grow big spiritually and become a greater threat to the enemy. The more we know, the more we grow! Get into God’s Word and know what He says. Listen to His voice. Use that knowledge against the enemy.
Ephesians 6:12 says, “For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.”
As she continued playing, she made another statement that went right along with the lesson. She told me her worm had gotten so large that she could not see the end of it. When we get so big and large in our growing with the Father we too may not be able to see the impact of our lives or the extent to which it stretches. We can’t see the end from the beginning, and that’s a good thing!
God, let us grow up in You so that we can’t even fully calculate the impact we may have on those around us. If we all participated this way, the reach would be incalculable.
Colossians 2:7 (NLT) – “Let your roots grow down into Him, and let your lives be built on Him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.”
