I was sitting praying for a few minutes this past Friday morning and found myself asking God for strength. I felt my trust was running a little low and concern over some items were starting to cause slight anxiety. I wanted to nip these thoughts and take them captive as the Bible teaches us in 2 Corinthians 10:5.

I saw a picture of a power source. The kind where, when an electronic item is charged up, it reaches the top, or the green color. However, I felt I was in the yellow, moving dangerously close to the red zone. I determined to let God be my true source of power. You want to know a little secret? He can see all, He knows all, and He owns it all!! So why not trust Him to handle my circumstances? I decided to leave it in His hands and I walked away from my short prayer time feeling much more in the green.

Maybe, you too, are looking at only what you can see with your physical eyes. There is so much more happening beyond this portion we’ve been allowed to see. It reminds me of something God had spoken the day before I had written this. I had woken up and felt good, after dealing with headaches and sinus issues earlier in the week. I was so thankful and told God so as well. Had I determined my week based on my feelings, it would have turned out pretty badly, with me being sick. However, refusing to live in only what I could see, and instead lifting my eyes to the Father, and looking past the physical realm, I was able to re-focus and my health was subsequently restored much faster. The point here is that things can change suddenly! I just love this word. I looked up the Greek origin and it comes from a word, “ek” meaning ‘out from’ or ‘to’.

Hebrews 12:2 (NIV) says, “fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

2 Corinthians 10:5 (NIV) says, “We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”
Galatians 6:9 (NIV) says, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
I pray the Father will strengthen each one reading this, and that He would turn our discouragement to encouragement. In Jesus Name, Amen.
