It had been a particularly challenging day. Waking up with a migraine was just the beginning. I was convinced my family was dysfunctional by lunch. Can anyone else relate??
Determined to turn around the day, I stepped aside to pray and listen to praise music. Shortly after, I walked through the kitchen and my eyes landed squarely on the towel, hanging from the stove handle. I knew instantly it meant something important for me. It read:
~Live life in full bloom~
Later I googled what it meant for a flower to be in full bloom. Immediately floored by what I read, I knew the Father was using this to speak to me. My eyes took it in: “a flower in full bloom has reached full maturity”. Whoa.
Another said, the following: “As a verb, blossom means to produce flowers…..also means to begin to flourish and develop.”
Y’all. Blooming is really just developing seeds so that pollination can occur. “Blooming occurs when the petals within a bud start to grow to the point that they invert and fill with enough water that the only place to go is out.”
When we are in full bloom, it is because we have been well-watered, the seeds have developed, we’ve matured and the only thing to do is burst forth into glorious petal arrangement.
James 1:4 says: “Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”
Ladies, I want that for me and I want that for you too. Let’s pray and continue to persevere so that we can reach full bloom, and shine radiantly, with an abundant overflow to pour into others.
Philippians 2:15: “that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world. ” Yes! I love this verse and it has been on my mind lately. We want to stand out, especially now with things the way they are in the world. Hey, we will also be pretty and smell good too. 😉
Father, let each one reading this know they have a purpose in you. Show each one their unique “full bloom’. Let us never stop pursuing all we were made to be. Let our lives glorify you. Let others be attracted to our light. Amen.
** I had also recently just purchased this super cute tray and flower bud from the local home decor store, called Chic & Shabby. I thought the flower was a bit fitting given this lesson. 🙂 **
