Living out the principles of God on a daily basis often prove to be challenging for me.
Things such as not letting my faith dip based on what I can see in the natural. Or moments that threaten to steal my joy. Or those that leave me with a looming sense of disappointment.
When you’re in the trenches it’s different. You may have always said you believed God but then you actually find yourself smack dab in the middle of some less than ideal circumstances, and it’s a whole other picture.
It’s where the rubber meets the road, or where your faith meets nothing else to cling to but God. It’s the place you aren’t sure what’s happening next and you constantly have to fight off feelings of despair. But it’s also the place you know you should be as everything else is stripped away and you have no other crutches. You need Jesus in a very real way, much like any other time before. And, as a result, your faith is strengthen and you find yourself in a familiar Joseph like situation where your dream keeps you going and your trust keeps you focused.
Even through the bad we must continue to trust our good and loving Father. He’s got this.
We just have to keep putting one foot in front of the other and keep doing what’s right in front of us. Trust your lives to the faithful God who created you, for He will never fail you (I Peter 4:19b NLT).
Luke 17:6 “The Lord answered, “If you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘May you be uprooted and thrown into the sea,’ and it would obey you!” Below is a picture of this seed and it’s rather small. So, today, and everyday forward, I’m working on mustering up enough faith to fit this tiny seed and wait while God does the rest.
Just being. Just living and waiting and not seeing manifestation of what’s to come can be very challenging but I think God knows this. He did make us 🙂 He sprinkles little pieces of His presence around so that we can taste and see His goodness! Little tidbits to keep us encouraged. And sometimes the pinhole of light we’ve been chasing starts to widen a bit and now we can see the light a little more than we could two months ago. Keep trusting and waiting and believing and hoping.
Proverbs 13:12 says “Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a dream fulfilled is a tree of life.” (NLT)
Romans 5:3-5b says this: “We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment.” (NLT)
